There are a number of common faults that occur in nearly all printers (paper jam anyone?), but each printer has its own quirks, and it often helps to check the manufacturers’ own knowledgebase in order to fix an issue or identify a broken part.
Lexmark have put lots of time into developing their Tech Library. Some of the resources at your fingertips include:
- How to videos for each of their printers, both for setting up and general troubleshooting.
- User manuals and guides including a guide to print quality troubleshooting.
- Downloads such as drivers, firmware and colour configuration files.
However, here at Express Group we have many years of experiences dealing with customer enquiries and identify part codes based on descriptions and faults. If you are stuck, and you need some help, we offer a Parts ID service at Express Group where you can email or give us a call and we may be able to suggest how to fix the problem and provide recommendations on what parts to replace.
At Express Group when we repair a printer we assess and identify the fault and replace the parts required with genuine manufacture parts. It also makes sense to also replace other parts in the paper path which wear over time. This is key to keeping your printer in good service condition and so prevents any down time or faults in the future
Our Parts ID service is run by Paul Gill, who has over 20 years experience of printer repair, you can email him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
