Filkemp SA is pleased to announce a distribution partnership with GoPrint3D.  GoPrint3D will market, stock, and distribute filaments for Filkemp (Portugal) to customers in the UK.

Filkemp have developed a sustainably produced material called PLA-N which offers incredible mechanical advantages over standard PLA. PLA-N has been successfully adopted in automotive and moulding industry and many other industrial companies, quickly replacing ABS, as the main material used for printing.

Vokswagen Autoeuropa, Filkemp’s and Ultimaker case study, won the TCT Automotive Product Application Award 2017, for Custom Tools.

“Using sustainable biopolymers means that the partnership with Filkemp fits our long-term strategy of becoming a more environmentally friendly company.” Jo Young, Managing Director at GoPrint3D.

GoPrint3D carried out testing on PLA-N and found that it offered up to 27% more torsional strength and 20% more flexural strength than leading brands of PLA.  It also printed well at recommended settings with an excellent surface finish.

“We were so impressed with Filkemp’s filaments in testing, combined with their case studies, meant that we felt confident that this is just the type of material our industrial customers are looking for.” James Blackburn, Sales Director at GoPrint3D

“All of us at Filkemp, SA and GoPrint3D are excited about this new venture and look forward to meeting the needs of our customers and partners and exploring new opportunities together.” José Inglês, V.P. Sales and Marketing at Filkemp.

The filaments on offer from Filkemp in the UK will include PLA-N, Nylon and PET-G.
